Pacific life annual reports (2014-2016)
produce three yearly reports that positions Pacific Life as a strong, innovative, and premium brand.
Overview
Pacific Life needed a facelift for their printed reports. In 2014, they asked Column Five to push the visual boundaries yet maintain a conservative image. The reports included an annual report, a community involvement report, and a report to members.

2016
We created a venn diagram to show Pacific Life how we came to the theme of "Evolution". We saw it as a synthesis of their top three keywords: Premium, Strength, and Innovation.
2015
Our concept was "Ocean in motion". It needed to shift the perception of Pacific Life as being more dynamic and energetic rather than expected and conservative. We paired a wave motif with classic typography to create visual contrast.
“A key challenge with the Pacific Life Annual Report is to present content—primarily business and financial results—in an impactful way that enhances and modernizes the brand. Column Five elevated this piece by pushing traditional boundaries, resulting in a family of corporate marketing publications that together convey an innovative and authentic brand through their final presentations. They are problem solvers and deliver outstanding content design work.”
2014
For our first year working with Pacific Life, the execution needed to be visually conservative. We used a bright yellow, glossy Pantone to counter a predominately blue palette.
